The first training game of the preseason becomes a desert Cascadia as the Sounders FC face their I-5 rivals the Vancouver Whitecaps FC who are playing with a newly acquired Sebastien LeToux.

- What do you think of the team so far? And how is the chemistry?
- @Bryan They've looked great so far. Really have liked how the starting group has played together.
- How do you think they will do against the likes of the Galaxy with Buddle now, and Santos Laguna?
- @Bryan Tough to say ... not sure how the Galaxy will replace Omar Gonzalez on defense and they don't play the most attacking style anyway.

- @Alex yepez It's the first preseason game, so it's tough to say.

- @Connor Everyone will be playing.
- Hey Matt, can you give a a quick timeline of what is ahead for the rest of preseason?
- @Dan We'll be announcing everything tomorrow, I believe.

- @Brougham Hooligan Of course. We've chatted a bit a couple of times. He's happy to be back in the NW.

- @Bryan So far, so good, but today may be a better indication.
- Who's the captain these days? I'd pick Parke or Mauro
- @Aknox No captain has been chosen yet.
- is there going to be a cascadia summit this year? and what formation and players are the sounders using today?
- @Alex Because of our preseason schedule gearing toward a Champions League match, the Cascadia Summit could not be organized.
- Any further word yet on our potential preseason Mex friendlies?

- @josh He is in Seattle right now. Not sure when to expect the next update. When there is something to update, we will have it here though.

- Last season we scored more goals than any other team in the league. Unfortunately we also conceded 11 more goals than the LA Galaxy. Do you see any signs that our defending is going to be any better this year?
- @Agent86 Hard to say since they haven't played a preseason game yet, but the outside backs look stronger and Gspurning is a beast.
- So are we probably going to see 3 completely different lineups for each game segment for each team?
- @PatrickWSU That is the plan, yes
- We are just about to get under way, here, so I won't be able to answer all the questions, but I'll try to get to them when I can.
- The mayor of Casa Grande is on hand and it's a beautiful day for a match.
- Seattle is in rave green and Vancouver is in navy blue.
- Vanocuver took the opening kick and we are under way.
- 1: Vancouver has two players massively offside and the linesmen lets them play. John Thorrington puts away the goal and Vancouver is up 1-0.
- 4: Eric Hassli just fouled Jeff Parke on a free kick - Parke was taking the free kick ... I can't make this stuff up.
- 4: Atiba Harris is shown a yellow card for a harsh tackle on Alvaro Fernandez against the sideline. ... This is getting ugly quick.
- 8: Osvaldo Alonso misses high on a shot from 35 yards out.
- 9: Seattle presses into Vancouver's end and earns a corner kick.
- 9: Mauro Rosales plays the ball into the box from the right side, but Joe Cannon springs the ball and makes the grab.
- 10: Jeff Parke steps in front of Eric Hassli as the Frenchman strikes from 26 yards out, blocking the shot.
- Massively offside? Are we talking like 3 yards or 10 yards?
